Needless to say, this is the CRAZIEST, WILDEST day for me of the year! SEPTEMBER 21 feels more like my birthday than my birthday (which is in November but at least it rhymes). And I’m always throwing a party or performing on it ever since my very first hit, “SEPTEMBER” by Earth Wind and Fire, co-written with Maurice White and Al McKay, came out. No exception tonight where I go for eight straight hours at the Willis Show Bar for my “21st night of September”/Motown 60 party performance that’s happily and gratefully long sold out! Everyone who knows me knows how much I love my hometown Detroit, where I am as we speak and where the show tonight is, and here’s a little piece that came out today in Detroitisit.
