Had an incredible group of filmmakers from Spain at my house filming a documentary I’m in, The Mystery of the Pink Flamingo, about an avid search for Kitsch and the meaning of life. John Waters is also in the film. My air-conditioning was broken both days we shot. It was 85° in LA, which means 95° inside a largely glass house, and there was also a man on the loose with a gun in the neighborhood so police helicopters were flying extremely low for hours. All of which made for an ultimately even kitschier shoot than planned. The doc is so full of color and spirit, I can’t wait for it to be out, hopefully sometime later this year.
