“This is on Hazelwood Street in front of the D’Elce Arms. (The builder’s name was Dee or D and his wife was named Elce, hence D’Elce Arms.) I lived on the other side of the building on Byron Street. I was two. The man’s name was Dick, I believe. You can call my mom and she will fill you in. Just tell her it is the pic where I’m crying and my drawers are drooping on one side. That is Herman Kiefer hospital in the b.g. It was a huge hospital with many out buildings for different diseases. The building here housed TB patients and on weekends, I would watch visiting families stand on the lawn and pass baskets up and down on ropes with letters and pictures and food to the patients above.”
Written on the back of the photo: “Lily walking on our street. She was crying for me.”
