We in the New World often look back to the Old World for our more sophisticated style cues. Decanters exude class, as do the many fountains that grace the cities on the European continent. So why not take one of the more famous of these fountains and put it on a decanter? Double the charm, right?
Here’s the “Master Piece Liquor Dispenser” in action. I like the way the name is a subtle reminder that A) this objet d’Art is a masterpiece, and B) that the intended liquid to dispense is liquor.
What Allee has to say about this:
I found a case of these in a thrift shop and gave them out as gifts throughout 1987. I see you paid $10 for yours. I got them for a quarter apiece. I think these are masterpieces of Kitsch. My favorite thing about the photo, however, is not the decanter but the hairy hand and the perfect liquor pee stream that separates into little drops before it hitsthe sink. |
