“Stir It Up” is another title whose artistic expression I spread across several mediums. I wrote the song with Danny Sembello in 1985. Then Patti LaBelle recorded it for the “Beverly Hills Cop” soundtrack LP, for which I won a Grammy in 1986. In 1987, I was commissioned to do a Stir It Up motorized piece to hang in The Hard Rock Cafe in LA. That piece now hangs in the Vegas Hard Rock. And in 2003, Bubbles the artist painted a ‘Stir It Up By Patti LaBelle’ for the Gay Icon section in the ‘Bubbles Goes Gay’ art exhibit in LA.
