On Feb. 18th, I (Allee) hosted the “Sound of Soul” Adopt-A-Tape Party at my house to raise money to digitize the Pacifica Radio Archives Black History Collection so that never before heard conversations and speeches by people like Dr. Martin Luther King, Coretta Scott King, Rosa Parks, Malcolm X, Langston Hughes, Muhammad Ali, James Baldwin, Eldridge Cleaver, Angela Davis, W.E.B DuBols, Jesse Jackson, Huey Newton, Adam Clayton Powell, Paul Robeson, and Lorraine Hansberry – just to name a few – can be heard for the very first time.
