My high school, Mumford High in Detroit, became the first high school in the United States to receive hundreds of hours of never-before-heard, historic African American audio tapes, which I helped raise money to restore from the Pacific Radio archive collection. On November 18, 2011, I was on public radio with the principal, history teacher and twenty students discussing the clips that the students DJ'd music to.
