MY CLACKERS!!!! I had some bruises on my Wrists in the early 70’s when these came out…I still have a package of of un-used Clackers… They discontinued making them when a bunch of em shattered and scared the hell out of little kids in Middle America. They realized it was a hazardous toy…
What Allee has to say about this: Always great when something is still in the package, especially with the original price on it.
I wasn’t into Clackers myself as I was far too reckless to be trusted with anything that freeform that was hard and flew through the air. It also took the kind of patience I only had for those things I was insanely interested in, like music and tv. But Clackers were all around me and I appreciated that they were one of those things that just took over and kitschified pop culture.
I loved the clacking ball thing that sat on top of desks where you pulled the ball way out to the side and let it go end and the thing just clack clack clack clacked til it died..
Perhaps my favorite thing here is the spelling of the word ‘coordination’ with the misplaced -,”teaches skill and co-ordination”, as if one will learn how to share ordination duties by using these balls. |
