We’ve all been there – staring at a couple of spoons, forks, watch gears, cosmetic jewelry trim and a screw, and said, I know, I’ll make an owl! This fine fellow is four inches tall from the tip of his head to his perch.

What Allee has to say about this:
There are, of course, trillions of metal owls. I’m not sure how this became the official bird of metal but welders and sculptors seem to have been intrigued with owls for centuries.

This guy is really spectacular and stands out from the flock. I’ve seen the silverware approach to owls many times before but the piece of costume jewelry stuck on this bird’s head gives him a regal look that many of them are sadly lacking. The artists are also usually way too lazy to chop off the forks at an angle to portray the wings so well. Looks like a little surgery was done to the spoon body too so this artist and owl get extra points for effort and authenticity.
