I’m pretty sure this three-cheese version of “If I Had A Hammer” helped bring the civil-rights movement to its zenith, and it will certainly harden the belief, long held by me, that all the wrong people are dead.

Although I’m sure that this version of the world’s most famous folk song was enough to give Pete Seeger, who wrote the song, quadruple cardiac arrest it’s an absolutely spectacular version that shall remain my favorite version throughout time. It’s wrong for so many reasons and right for every definition of kitsch under the sun. Go head shakin’ Debbie!
