This is one of my true all time treasures as it was given to me by one of the people I love most in the world. He found it in the Little India section of Brooklyn (which is really only about a block or so) and sent it to me in California to ease my worried mind and remind me of the finer places on this planet. She is a butane lighter and when you pull her arm down, a flame shoots out of her head, her boobs light up, and she plays Fur Elise. After more than 12 years of use, her boobs have dimmed and failed, and her song slowed to garbles, then ceased completely, but she can still shoot fire out of her head if you fill her up. I can relate. Years ago, after a bad day at work or when I was just feeling maudlin, I’d sit on my porch with her by my side, a glass of scotch, and smoke a cigarette while dreaming of cold night walks in Central Park, missed buses, and frozen walks home sharing one jacket between me and my beloved friend…I’m lucky to know good people…especially ones with such superb taste…..

I have many of these light up, fire shooting lady lighters but none that ever played music so now I have a new quest when I go to New York and comb the tchotchke tables of West Broadway. She’s a beaut!

One of mine actually shoots flames from the boobs, which makes it almost impossible not to toast your fingers or fry your lips when lighting your smokeable of choice.

I, too, am blessed with friends of excellent taste who have given me some of my most excellent possessions.
