This loving Owl Family is the handiwork of one Mary Lou Pratt, dated 1973 on the back. It looks good and hokey enough to have earned a place among the Gigs, Lees and Keanes, but maybe these owls are just too contented for that crowd.

What Allee has to say about this:
Is that a painting or a print? The background almost looks like it’s linoleum. Definitely distinctive from other owls who are sometimes portrayed much more traditionally even when the artist is trying to be ‘modern’.

Those Keane-meet-outer-space-eyes are really good, made better by the fact that each owl’s eye position is different so the artist can show off all his eye related skills. I also like the combination of round and pointy shapes on the owls. It’s very consistent. But most impressive for me is the way Mary Lou has painted her name. (Where is the Pratt and 1973?)
